“A hidden-cut puppet music video inspired by André 3000.” (2025)
I co-directed, edited, and designed graphics for this music video, a project built around a simple question: how do you create something visually ambitious with only a handful of people and a couple of puppets? Working alongside Andy Mineo, we developed the entire concept around hidden cuts disguised within continuous 360-degree camera rotations. Every time the camera passed behind Andy’s puppet, we used the wipe moment to cut, change the André 3000 puppet’s wardrobe, and continue the movement seamlessly, creating the illusion of one uninterrupted shot. Because the effect relied on planning more than production scale, we spent days rehearsing camera movement, puppet choreography, and transitions before filming.
We carefully selected a playful location that added production value without requiring a large crew or set build. After production, I handled the edit, motion graphics, and subtitles that helped reinforce the pacing and personality of the piece. The final mirror reveal was discovered during rehearsal and became one of the video’s standout moments. The finished project became one of the artist’s most celebrated releases and demonstrated how strong concepts and execution can often outweigh budget and scale.
