The Goal: To design covers that embody the look and spirit of 90s basketball culture.
Credits: I developed the concept and managed the art and creative direction. Ray Spears handled the photography, Caleb Davis took care of graphic design, and Zeek Elliott sourced the wardrobe and produced the entire shoot.
Notes: This was the first cover I ever creative directed for someone. Andy Mineo really allowed me free reign in building the world for this entire project.
I was really happy with how it turned out back then, and looking back now, it still holds up well. Years later, Drake used similar references in his 'Laugh Now, Cry Later' video.
People kept messaging me, saying they 'stole' our cover idea, but honestly, they probably never even saw our cover. They likely just referenced the same images we did—it happens.
