The Goal: Create a high quality, elegant, and versatile Dominican Republic branded hat.
Credits: I handled all aspects of this project. This includes:
Custom Logo Design: I designed a unique logo that blends the classic elements of baseball cap aesthetics with something personal and meaningful—a silhouette of the Dominican Republic incorporated into the letter "R."
Custom Hat Creation: Rather than starting with a standard blank hat, I created one entirely from scratch, achieving the perfect crown shape for both styles. We also chose 100% wool for a premium, durable feel, unlike the typical polyester blends found on the market.
Additional Custom Touches: Every detail counts, so I included custom hang tags and a unique design on the hat's pinwheel to make it stand out even more.
Notes: In 2020-2021, I came up with the idea to design a Dominican Republic-branded hat with the timeless elegance of a Yankee cap. While there were already many Dominican Republic hats out there, none felt versatile enough for different activities and settings.
I began by creating the logo, not realizing that this small step would launch me on a journey to build an entire company and produce my own snapback hat from scratch, working with manufacturers in China.
It’s been a wild ride, but I’m more than satisfied with the result. My goal of creating something high-quality, versatile, and elegant has truly been achieved, and I’ve learned more along the way than I ever expected.
