Happy Thoughts Album Covers

The Goal: This project was inspired by a 2019 trip taken by the Miner League team. The aim was to capture the essence of that trip and reflect it in the design.
Credits: I developed the concept, handled art direction, creative direction, and graphic design for both covers. R.J. Vergara created the illustrations. The second cover uses Andy Mineo’s personal photography from the trip. The back cover for the alternate version also includes some Caleb Davis designs that were initially submitted for the merch capsule.
Notes: The first cover was inspired by A Tribe Called Quests’ Midnight Marauders cover. It features a slew of pop culture figures and many of the team members involved in the album's creation.
The second cover, completed a few years later, highlights Andy Mineo’s photography, adding a personal touch to the overall project.

A small easter egg is the bottom text on the cover, reading “Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy” in Japanese—a nod to one of Andy’s childhood favorites, Ren & Stimpy.
